Hello everyone, first time here, although i know the faces of many of the coaches and players i bump into (litterally!) on the fields, i don't know all of you guys by name. As I read through these posts I see not much has changed over the years. It seems there is still no comprehension about how the referees are assigned to your games. NO TEAM HAS THEIR OWN REFS. The APAFQ assigns refs to intercity. This whole debacle over the referee who was removed from the championship game is an embarrassment to the QBFL and Football Quebec. The situation was handled poorly, insufficiently, and unprofessionally. The ref in question is related to the president of North Shore. She also has over 10 years experience including cejep and the Alouettes stick crew. This league is full of family members including coaches, players, and referees. The action taken to remove this ref was deplorable. To believe that a family association would influence her decision making on the field is simply juvenile. To believe that the efforts she has made over the years to attain the level she is at now only to discredit herself by “taking sides” is simply ridiculous. We live in an age of communication and the games are filmed. Next time you want to argue or discredit a referee take a few minutes to watch film and you will see what your untrained eye did not. What also has not changed and unfortunately never will is the comprehension to the rules and more specifically the rules and regulations of the QBFL. Too many coaches think they know the rules when in fact they are mistaken and often associate calls with NCAA, NFL, CIS, and CFL. It’s great to be a fan but if you’re going to coach know your own rules. Stop blaming refs for your own ignorance. The QBFL responded to a complaint by Laurentian that the daughter of NS president was refereeing the game. They responded by removing her not before but during in a humiliating manner. The QBFL failed to follow its own protocol and rules. If Laurentian wished to make a complaint or protest they could have. There are steps and rules to be followed that were not met and a decision having no merit was made on the spot. The referee in question can surely defend herself and any accusations made against her. Her credibility and experience alone merit a level of respect that the QBFL simply disregarded. Shame on them and shame on the small minded people involved.

Well, Troy from facebook, obvioulsy you are from NSL. One one hand I agree with you, those refs did not provided the level of quality that both team deserved. If you think it could have cost you a championship, dont you believed it may have cost a championship to others. I guess depends on which side you were cheering for. Few calls were pathetics, like a a head tackling just in front of NS bench and the fumble pass (not incomplete) that was ruled otherwise by Ms the president s daughter ... in a game like this, every little things can make the difference. At least, we agree on one thing, reffing was not adequate, and this is casting a shadow on the the game but more importantly on our entire league. Hopefully something will be done.

Coach JM , premièrement sincère félicitations a vous et a votre équipe pour ce match et pour cette saison. La meilleure équipe a gagné hier et vous devez être fier de vos joueurs. Je tiens à dire que moi et mon équipe ne supportons aucunement les commentaires de ‘Wariat’. Selon certaines de ses remarques précédentes, je doute fort que ce type soit un de nos joueurs ou de nos parents; probablement un ‘provocateur’ qui aime se cacher derrière son clavier. Vous faites par-contre une légère erreur quand vous dites que personne ne respect la dynastie des NSL. Personnellement je la respect grandement et je ne suis pas le seul c’est certains, nous respectons cette dynastie et bien entendu c’est pourquoi nous et les autres désirons vous vaincre pour pouvoir un jour établir la notre. Je suis d’accord, ‘a dynsaty is never done’, but new ones can be established. Personnellement je suis très fier de mon groupe de joueurs et coachs. Notre équipe étaient relativement jeune avec 15 joueurs de première année, dont plusieurs ‘starter’ incluant notre QB no. 9. et nous nous préparerons encore mieu l'an prochain. Donc encore une fois, l’an prochain, nous préparons notre équipe en fonction de vous battre. Donc a l’an prochain. A mes joueurs, parents et fans, encore une fois je vous demande de ne pas faire de commentaires négatifs sur ce site. Merci Coach JM et NSL, encore une fois félicitations pour cette saison.
